New rescue pups

Hi, all welcome back to my blog I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe, As you can tell from the title this is a personal post, a few months ago my family adopted two dogs from a rescue, a boy and a girl name millie and oscar.

We’ve had them a few months now and they’re really settled in, they had to be homed together because they are so close. The only back story we have about them is their owners had three dogs and were getting older or in ill health and couldn’t look after them anymore so they gave them to a family friend. That person didn’t want all three dogs so she gave millie and oscar to the pound which is quite sad I don’t know how close they were to the other dog but they don’t like to be apart from each other so I imagine they were all very close.

The pound contacted a rescue that takes in and rehomes small dogs. They weren’t in the best state they had to have their hair shaved because it was matted and some teeth removed that were rotten. They didn’t have many teeth anyway which made it hard to estimate their age but the vet guessed about 5 years old but after having millie with us these past few months I think she’s a lot younger she acts like a puppy.

Millie is a Maltese and oscar is a cross between a Maltese and a westie, they love going for walks. Millie won’t walk anywhere unless she can see oscar is close by and Oscar’s the same he’ll only walk so far then he’ll wait till he sees millie is near it’s really cute their best friends. we got them separate beds but most mornings we find them in the same bed.

I wanted to share oscar and millie’s story with you to encourage adopting over buying pets. Anyone who’s thinking of getting a dog or other pet, please look into adopting. There are so many dogs and cats looking for homes and I really don’t agree with or supporting people who bread dogs for money.

Thank you so much for checking out my blog I really appreciate it and I hope you’re enjoying the content, leave me comments and let me know what you think. If you would like blog updates please subscribe. xx Paula xx
