Adding retinol to my skincare routine- Murad skincare review!
Hi, all welcome back to my blog I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe. I wanted to share this new skincare night routine iv been using recently. Everyone is telling me I need to add retinol into my skincare routine, it’s all I read about, I have a pretty simple basic skincare routine iv shared with you all the products that work well for me ill links those below but I decided to give this a go and I did a lot of research to find a good fit for me.
The one retinol product I found that had great reviews was the Murad renewal retinol serum its highly recommended but really expensive, I do feel when it comes to these products they are an investment in your skincare so it’s more expensive and I feel its worth it but for me, I was not going to spend that €80-€90 on something that might not be right for my skin, it’s not a one size fits all when it comes to skincare but thankfully I can across a Murad renewal retinol gift set that was on sale at half the price for the serum with three travel size product, so I was sold. It was €50 for the 3 products. these product costs between €60-€90 each in full size so I was really happy with the find.
First product is the retinol youth renewal serum:
You apply a thin layer evenly to the skin after cleansing, it’s preventative and corrective retinol for all skin types. It firms skin evens out skin tone and the ceramides work to repair your skin. I started adding this to my night routine on alternate nights it is very strong, it can cause irritation and peeling if you use too much, with all the benefits there are the drawbacks but I found using it this way for the first week to get my skin used to it worked best for me and I didnt have any irritation and was able to increase the use. I do love the way my skin is looking I have noticed changes, my skin is hydrated and brighter. it is something I will continue using and would recommend.
The secone product is the Retinol Youth Renewal eye serum:
This product targets fine lines, crow’s feet, dark circles, and loss of firmness, it can be used in the am and pm. You apply this around the eye area and lid. This was too intense for me, it was too strong I used it for a few days first both am & pm then I reduced it to just the am but I found It really irritated my eyes they were really sensitive and sore to touch I had to stop using it. if I was to use this I would probably only be able to use it twice or three times a week without it irritating me and it just isn’t worth it for me I didn’t see a big difference after using it with all the sensitivity.
The third product is the Retinol youth Renewal night cream:
This night cream contains retinol and vitamin A, it aids in smoothing skin texture, its lightweight, the algae extract it contains helps improve firmness and elasticity. I did like this night cream it’s really hydrating. It’s a nice night cream but nothing out of this world really, for the price point you would expect more I feel.
My overall thoughts on this kit are that I really loved the serum which is the only reason I both this set was to try this one product without breaking the bank, and I will be repurchasing I feel like it fit my skin type I’m getting results and I love how my skin looks and feels so it’s worth the price.
The other two product are a no for me I just feel the eye serum was too strong and really not worth the price for me I use eye masks a lot that aren’t expensive and I get great results without irritation ( ill link the post below) so ill be stick with them for my eyes.
The night cream I have nothing negative to say about it, it really is a nice lightweight hydrating retinol night cream but it’s not worth the price, there are some great retinol night creams that iv used the cost between €30-€50 that are amazing and do the same thing I feel like in some cases your just paying for the brand name.so I wouldn’t repurchase this one for that reason.
Thank you so much for checking out my blog I really appreciate it and I hope you’re enjoying the content, leave me comments and let me know what you think. If you would like blog updates please subscribe. xx Paula xx
