Tumor vs Cyst… my story pt2
So this is where it continues.. the ultrasound felt like forever and all I could hear was a lot of typing on the computer or ultrasound machine, I know now she was doing a lot of measuring, it must have been about 10-15 minutes and I was told there was a Cyst in my right ovary the was quite large and needed future investigation.
With the cyst being in my ovary I was referred to the gynecology department, so I when back up to the emergency department and was settled in a bed to wait for another doctor to see what was going to happen next.
Of course, while I waited I did some googling to get some information on what a cyst was and how it would be treated and it seemed pretty harmless and straight forward to remove so I wasn’t really worried I was relieved that it was finally going to be over.
By around 6pm a consultant came to see my and basically told me what I had been researching and seem pretty positive I would have it treated there, I just needed to have a CT scan and an MRI scan to get a better look before deciding on treatment so I would have to stay in for 2 days to get theses test done, which was fine I just wanted it over and done.
I can’t say enough about the hospital staff, the nurses, careers, and doctors that go out of the way to make you feel comfortable and at ease through it all and by the following evening after I had my ct scan results I really appreciated that because instead of getting answers there were just more question, my cyst was looking more like a tumor but they were still keeping me positive, the MRI scan would definitely give a clearer picture so I had to sit tight and try not to worry but what the ct scan did tell was the size, the size was over 19inches which was substantial and I may not be able to have it removed with a simple keyhole surgery but I would just have to wait and see. everything was riding on this MRI scan the following day. Unfortunately, the next day came and I couldn’t get my scan and it was a Friday which meant I had to wait till Monday, my doctor needs me to stay at the hospital cause it was really important to have this scan to move forward.
So Monday came and still no scan I was so frustrated but my doctor promised me by Tuesday morning I would have it don’t and I could go home for a why’ll, she had already felt I would have to go to the main hospital to have it removed due to the size and the possibility there could be cancer cells it would be removed whole rather than drained to be safe. So I went home and in just a few days I was scheduled to see a surgeon in the main hospital and by known my tumor had grown bigger.
Thank you so much for reading my story so far ill be posting the last part soon. xx Paula xx
