Photoshoot Terror!!!
Hi, all welcome back to my blog I hope everyone is having a great week!I’ve been quiet busy with one thing or another, this post is a little random its a personal story you can probably guess what it’s all about for the title!! lol
I wanted to sit down a write about the experience iv had recently. Iv been preparing for a photoshoot I have planned for a why’ll, it’s a personal shoot that iv been wanting to do but I kept getting cold feet. I know how strange that might sound. I keep thinking \’your not ready yet” and put it off for another week. When it gets close I suddenly develope a case of body dysmorphia where I don’t see what’s really there, I see the flaws rather than the positive.
I’m well aware of how irrational it is which makes it more frustrating. I wanted to share this story because I know I’m not the only one, we all put pressure on ourselves. I think it important to figure out the trigger and a way through it rather that avoid a siuation and hold yourself back.
So I decided to sit down and make a list of the photo shoot process to see what might be triggering my anxiety. I’m very happy with sharing photos on social media or this blog, iv become more comfortable in my skin which is why these anxiety attacks are so confusing.
What came from doing this list I feel it was the unfamiliar environment is what I’m nervous about, and being in front of a camera in that way, witha stranger taking my photo.
So I decided to break out some equipment I had in my parents attic and have my mom take some pictures of me, just simple, going through the steps , I wanted to feel the anxiety which I did and get through it , obviously I’m in my comfort zone some what because im at my parents home so its easier but it feels great to figure out what was triggering this and holding me back from doing something I had been so excited about.
That was a bit of a ramble I know but there is a point and that is to be proactive, setbacks happen, but if you face it head on you can develope a strategy to get through it and change how your mind reacts. This might seem like a trivial situation but it was the brick wall in my road for a few weeks and something I didn’t want to give up due to fear, iv come too far for that.
Thank you so much for checking out this post I really appreciate it and I hope you’re enjoying the content, leave me comments and let me know what you think, if you have been in a simular situation id love to hear about it.. if you would like blog updates please subscribe. xx Paula xx
