STRONG not SKINNY & why I hate diets!!
Hi, all welcome back to my blog I hope everyone is having a great week. I’m doing a lot of posts basically answering questions iv been asked about my lifestyle, healthy, fitness, and diet and how I got here cause there always a story behind every lifestyle choices or decisions we make so I hope this helps and fills you in. You cant learn if you don’t make mistakes and iv learn a lot from mine.
I’m a very health conscious person whether it be my physical or mental health. Lately, I’m getting asked a lot about my everyday diet and how I eat and stay healthy. I don’t do DIETS!! I dislike the word!! I have a healthy lifestyle and I eat good clean food every day and I give myself a cheat day once a week that’s what works for me I don’t deprive myself. I don’t weight myself anymore my aim is to be strong, not skinny. I feel so much better feeling strong and toned then skinny and it took me years to realize it was better for me.
A few years ago I was obsessed with working out and monitoring my food to the point that I wasn’t consuming 400cals a day and I would workout 2 hrs a day, even after working a 12hour shift on my feet I still had to do it. I was obsessed with making sure I burned off every calorie I consumed, it was extremely unhealthy and took over my life. Breaking that cycle was a nightmare my body just gave out on me and I had to retrain my thought process when it came to food. Even with all of that I do remember at the time I was never satisfied with the result, I couldn’t see any big difference when I looked in the mirror. I wore baggy clothes and just worked harder. Its only know I look back at the very few pictures I let get taken of me that I can see how sick and dangerously tin I looked.
So now my mindset has changed I do meal prep for the week cause I get busy and want to stay healthy I make sure I’m getting all the nutrition I need in every meal to stay healthy. My meals consist of protein, veggies, and carbs, nice and balanced. So this is what has been working for me, I’m eating a lot of good clean food, no depriving myself, if I feel like a piece of dark chocolate ill have it and I always have a cheat do once a week!!
