Getting to know me…… A LITTLE
Hi all, Welcome back to my blog, I hope everyone had a great weekend. As you can tell from the title this is gonna be a personal post, a little get to know me piece. I’ve seen other bloggers do this “favorite childhood memory” post before and loved the idea so I decided to do one. our childhoods and how we’re raised shape the person we become. I decided to do this a few weeks ago after reading a few and one thing that I noticed is mine isn’t like any other it’s a little random, to be honest, lol, it’s not a special event, birthday party or Christmas morning or any fun kid stuff!!lol So I’ll get into the story and hope you enjoy this post I think it says a lot about for sure.
So people that know me will know as a child, I was a complete daddy’s girl and I still am. Where every he went I wanted to go!! When I would hear the front door open I would run like lightning to make sure he wasn’t going anywhere without me! lol, I’m sure I was super annoying! We had a weekly tradition, every Saturday to visit my grandmother who lived with my aunt and her family. The drive to visit my grandmother is my favorite and one of my clearest childhood memory. My dad grew up on “black horse ave, Dublin” near the “Phoenix Park” and we would take them back roads on our way to see her. My dad loves to tell stories about how he grew so he would point out all the important places to him” strawberry beds” all the places he played with his friends. He would describe how it looked back then, share things he would get up to as a kid. Show me all the places his parent used to take him and his sibling, all these amazing funny stories that I’ve never forgotten. He’s such a great storyteller. These memories are so clear to me I can even remember the music he would always play ( Eric Clapton and dire straights) that today when I drive them roads myself and I see these places I can hear him, telling me these stories! or if the music comes on the radio and it brings me right back to them moments. it a great feeling to have these memories, HIS memories and I’m grateful to have a dad who loves to share so much, I know in the future I can share these with my own family .its the best gift iv ever been given and its why we have such a strong bond today.
