Baking Saturday: Lemon Shortbread!

Hi all, welcome back to sweet Sunday! I hope everyone had a great week.I’ve  been really healthy this week, pure clean eating so I’m so excited for my cheat day!!!lol This week I’m sharing with you a sweet addiction of mine!lol This recipe is probably the easiest recipe to follow and make its literally 5 ingredients and I can’t stop eating it which is why I don’t make it that often.It’s a special occasion recipe.

This week I baked lemon shortbread square. this recipe could not be easier to follow and trust me there amazing!! I have no willpower when these are around so I know you’ll love them!! If your new to baking this is a good recipe cause it’s not complicated, it’s a great place to start. Please give it a try !!

All you need is:

  • 275g flour
  • 2tbsp ground almond
  • 225g softened butter
  • 85g caster sugar
  • grated zest of 1 large lemon

 Preheating your oven to 180℃ and prepare a square baking tray with baking paper. this recipe makes 24 lemon squares.

 

 

 

 

Start by beating together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.Sift flour and ground almond into the mixture and add the lemon zest. Use your hands to knee mix together into a dough.

 

 

 

 

Place the dough on the baking tray and spread it evenly, baking for 20 minutes until golden brown, cut into squares while warm and leave to cool.Then enjoy!!
